Section 1 of this course covers understanding vulnerability in dental care, including defining and identifying vulnerability, exploring causes and types of vulnerability in adults, discussing the role of dental professionals in identifying vulnerability, and examining legal and ethical aspects of safeguarding vulnerable adults. A case discussion is also included to highlight vulnerability in dental settings.

Section 2

Section 2 of the course covers an overview of dental conscious sedation for vulnerable adults, including the principles, techniques, agents, and selection of conscious sedation. It also covers implementing safeguards for vulnerable adults in dental sedation, managing risks and emergencies, and professional development and reflection on safeguarding vulnerable adults. Legal and ethical implications related to conscious sedation are also discussed.

Section 3 of the course focuses on implementing safeguards for vulnerable adults in dental sedation.
