Learning ObjectivesAnticipated Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to understand the fundamental principles of radiography and apply radiation protection methods in dental practice.1: Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the principles of radiography, apply radiation protection methods, and effectively perform common radiographic techniques in the dental practice.
Upon completion, learners will have the capacity to perform common radiographic techniques used in dentistry and rectify common errors associated with each technique.2: As a result of this course, learners will likely increase the overall standard of dental radiography in their respective communities by making informed diagnostic decisions and implementing safer, more precise radiographic techniques.
Participants will demonstrate their ability to interpret radiographs, identifying normal and abnormal anatomical structures, and understand the radiographic signs of various diseases.3: The course should lead to an enhanced capacity among learners to interpret radiographs accurately, identify both normal and abnormal anatomical structures on dental radiographs, and note the radiographic signs of diseases.
By the final session, learners will have mastered the modern innovations in dental radiography including digital radiography, Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), panoramic radiography, and the use of modern tools for radiographic interpretation.4: In the wider context, the course aims to contribute to the advancement and standardisation of dental radiography practices by promoting understanding and application of modern radiography innovations, such as digital radiography and Cone Beam Computed Tomography.
At the course’s conclusion, attendees will have developed the competency to understand and adhere to key legal and ethical guidelines relevant to dental radiography, including the practice of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in radiography.5: Following the course, the expectation is that attendees will apply ethical guidelines and legal regulations in their practice of dental radiography, thereby elevating the overall quality of oral healthcare, safeguarding patient safety, and maintaining their Continuous Professional Development in radiography.
