The course also covers writing resume content, including translating expertise to academia, making experience stand out, highlighting publications, achievements, grants, and writing a compelling career objective. Polishing the resume is also covered, including formatting the resume, editing and proofreading, tailoring the resume for different academic roles, adding references, and reviewing, editing, and improving the drafted resume. Finally, the course covers taking it to the next level, including cover letters, networking and LinkedIn, interview preparation, continuous improvement, and bringing it all together.

The section also covers the differences between CVs and resumes in academia. Finally, an activity encourages reflection on personal interest and readiness for academia.

Section 2 of this course covers the essential skills and traits needed for academia, the significance of resumes and the differences between CVs and resumes in academia. It also focuses on structuring and organizing an academic resume, writing its content, and polishing it through formatting, editing, and proofreading. Finally, it touches on taking the resume to the next level by exploring cover letters, networking and LinkedIn, interview preparation, and continuous improvement of the resume.

Section 3 of the course covers how to write a compelling academic resume including envisioning your resume, structuring the content, translating expertise to academia, highlighting experience and skills, formatting, and editing.
