Section 2 of the course covers adolescent oral health concerns, engaging with children and young people in dental practice, preventive care and education, and taking a holistic approach to safeguarding children’s oral health. Topics include the importance of primary teeth, common oral health problems in teenagers, effective communication strategies, oral health education for children and parents, and promoting oral health in schools and the community. The section also covers the role of fluoride and sealants in dental decay prevention, nutritional advice for improving oral health, and working with allied health practitioners for child safeguarding.
